Itinerary
Our Safaria Privately guided Cape Winelands tour takes guests deep into the historical heart of the Stellenbosch wine lands along a route which is regarded as one of the most famous wine routes of the Cape. There is a saying in the Stellenbosch wine region “that every bottle of wine is an ambassador for the South Africa” as this is a truth that you know doubt will agree on your tour. The Stellenbosch Wine Routes are an experience for all the senses and all the seasons of the Cape. Its a place of sheer beauty that’s filled with nostaligic charm and where memories are made in a town with a proud history in the art of wine making. Your itinerery for the day would be as follows :
- Brian will collect you from 08h00 and then drive out on the N2 towards the beautiful scenic wine capital for Stellenbosch.
- We start with a visit to the Dorpshuis (town-house) museum to create a historical backdrop and understanding to the town, its establishment and colorful history.
- We then journey along the wine route to two of our favorite estates that both epitomize the historical element of the region as well as the beauty and nostalgia of the Stellenbosch region. These two estates being Delair and Boschendal. Time permitting we may visit a third estate and many more at request but this will be for your own cost.
- After your wine tastings you will enjoy a Huguenot fine chocolate tasting near the old Huguenot monument which represents the rich Dutch and French influence in the region.
- We return via the prison where Nelson Mandela was released and you will have an opportunity to pose next to the famous “Madiba” statue.
- After you’ve got all your pic’s we begin our journey back home to your accommodation.

What to wear
Summer Months: September to April
We recommend light functional attire preferably in natural colour shades to blend in with our environment and not stand out visually to game species. Summer can be hot and the direct sunlight dangerous so please remember a good hat as well as sunscreen. During the hottest summer months (Nov/Dec) the daytime temperatures can reach 30 degrees Celsius from 10h30 and from 13h00 the temperature can reach upward of 36 degrees. The summer months are also our rainy season so the afternoons can experience thundershowers but all vehicles are equipped with umbrellas
Winter Months: May to August
During the winter months in the Cape, we will experience rain as it’s a winter rainfall climate with a daily average temperature of 15 to 22 degrees Celsius. The early mornings can be cooler with temperatures from 5 to 8 degrees and late afternoons again dropping below 18 degrees.
